Experiencia fantástica: Let me give you the 100% real take on Kaeru. My wife and I were down in Mexico visiting for a week. My wife is a naturalist and is very knowledgeable on plants and animals- so we set out to find a local guide who was passionate about the area and knows their stuff. I'm not talking about the basic history here- we actually wanted to spend a little extra money on somebody who we could really learn from. And Alejandra with Kaeru was exactly who we were looking for. From the moment we reached out, she was on top of it with her communication, her coordination, our transportation, her knowledge of the local plants, animals, culture, history and anthropology. I cannot recommend her enough. If you are looking for someone who can take you off the beaten path, away from the crowds, and deliver a top notch personalized experience- let me tell you-- this is it. You will not be disappointed by what Kaeru has to offer because, they aren't just in it to run a business. They're in it because they are passionate about what they do, and it's hard to find people like that these days. They have worked hard to build relationships with the locals so these tours are more authentic and less "touristy" than any other option. He is incredibly warm, caring, passionate, and knowledgeable, making our tour with him both premium and enjoyable, as well as highly educational. While exploring a beautiful cenote, Pepe went out of his way to ensure my 4-year-old daughter felt comfortable and had a great time. His extra effort to find a restaurant open on New Year’s Day led to a wonderful lunch experience that my family truly appreciated. We are so grateful for everything he did for us! However, she heard that we also wanted to go to Coba so made us a custom trip tailored to our interests and we did both! She was very warm, patient and knowledgeable. We enjoyed her so much that we also hired her to take us on a cenote trip the next day. It was great value for the money. She’s so great I’d hire her every time!

Experiencia fantástica: We have been to Akumal twice, once in 2022 and now in 2023. Both times we did a private tour with local guide Kaeru. I could not recommend Alejandra and her network of local guides more! Our tour was with Alejandra last year and with her colleague Pepe this year. Both were fantastic experiences. We traveled as a two family group with 4 adults and 4 kids/teenagers. Alejandra and Pepe both kept adults and kids alike engaged with their knowledge and experience of the area and sites we visited. Alejandra was so patient helping us to design a tour with experiences that would be enjoyable for our entire group. A highlight of this most recent tour was a visit with a Mayan family that invited us into their home, provided the most amazing meal of our entire trip, and shared with us their customs, way of life, and how we can live in a symbiotic manner to help preserve their culture and customs. We also visited quiet cenotes in the jungle, saw howler and spider monkeys, ziplined over a lagoon, floated down a Mayan canal, visited ruins (did I mention ate amazing food?!) Last year, Alejandra made a special stop on our way home to get the best coconut water and cream drinks (we had a hard time sharing with the kids!). Alejandra and Pepe are both so passionate about this land they inhabit and want to share their knowledge and love with visitors to this place in hopes that we not only have an incredible adventure but also develop a love and appreciation for this special place. Whether with Alejandra herself or one of the guides she works with, you will have an incredible adventure with Kaeru!

Experiencia fantástica: This tour is top tier, period. You can tell the guides are so interested in what they’re doing that they enjoy their jobs immensely. The first tour we did was with Alejandra and it was so good we came back and did it with Angela. We saw monkeys, zip lined, ate the best food of our trip and learned more about the ruins than I can fit in my brain. Don’t skimp on the sunscreen or actual layers for covering because the Mexican sun is relentless. But there is plenty of shade at each place to hide in. WEAR GOOD SHOES and tip your guide and each host as much as you can because it means a great deal.

Experiencia fantástica: Spending 2 days on excursions with Alejandra and Fernanda were the highlight of our trip to Mexico. When planning the excursions we let Alejandra know what we were intrestwdin seeing/doing and she designed 2 days for us. They were perfectly planned for our liking. On the first day We went to Mayan ruins, on a boat ride, a float through the lagoon, up to an observation tower and to an amazing lunch at a local restaurant on the beach. On the second day we went on a jungle hike, observed a Mayan Blessing, zip lined down to a lagoon where we took a canoe across the lagoon then hiked to a Cenote where we rappelled down into the cave. We then visited a local Mayan family and learned more about their culture and ate an amazingly delicious lunch. Throughout both days Alejandra taught us so much about the culture of the area. She is full of awesome information. Each of the areas she brought us to were away from the super busy tourist areas. This was the most authentic excursions I’ve done on a trip. If we are in that area again we will be calling her again. We truly felt like friends by the end of our second day with them.

She’s a terrific storyteller with a deep understanding of Mayan and Mexican history and an in-depth knowledge of (and respect for) the flora and fauna of the Yucatán. Among our favorite excursions: - discovering astonishing flocks of flamingos in Rio Lagartos, - hiking up the ruins at Ek Balam while reflecting on the Mayan calendar- - getting immersed in the spiritual practices of the Mayans while spelunking through a dark and dramatic cave that opens onto a spectacular hidden cenote. - jumping out of our boat into the crystal clear waters off the Muyil Lagoon for a “float” through the Sian Ka’an Bioreserve. Ale always ends her tours with a lovely meal, sometimes at her favorite local restaurant and sometimes at her favorite picnic spot with delicious home cooked dishes that will make you think she must moonlight as a caterer. Even though we’ve been home owners in the Riviera Maya since 2018 and have come to know the area quite well, Ale can still get us out and about, discovering amazing new secrets about our beloved Yucatán.

Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I booked a tour through Kaeru Tours for our honeymoon, we wanted to see the pyramids in Chichén Itzá. we found Kaeru Tours through google and we're glad we found them. From start to finish we were looked after. Ms Alejandra was extreamly helpful in finding what we wanted to do with our itinerary she also recommended different things to do around the area. She was so helpful in getting the most out of our trip. We ended up seeing the impressive pyramids and the beautiful Cenotes(we had it to ourselves) and had a wonderful meal with the locals. Truly an unforgetable moment in our lives and Kaeru tours made that possible. Upon arrival we met our tour guide, Ms. Angela, and wow she was the highlight of our trip! Extremely knowledgable of the area and it's history and has been a tour guide for over 16 years! She made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. We arrived early to Chichén Itzá to beat the crowds to get wonderful photos(she had great ig worthy pic ideas and great at taking our pics) and we had our alone time to walk around at our own pace. After seeing the pyramid, we made our way to an authentic Mayan village and enjoyed a nice meal(made from scratch), I made a homemade tortilla with a wonderful local, and got to experience the lifestyle for a brief moment. It was a very heartwarming experience with wonderful people. To end our day, we visited a beautiful Cenotes, one of many around there. Experiencia fantástica: The absolute BEST experiences of our trip, and possibly any travel experience we have ever had. The personal touch to ensure we enjoyed cenotes, river floats and Mayan experiences as a family, and not be crowded with any other tourists, was second to none. Experiencia fantástica: When coming to Tulum, there is often an assumption of a beachy, hippy paradise where tourists come to witness the unique aesthetic, party and relax beachside. However, when looking deeper into Tulum and the areas surrounding, it also offers unique hidden gems in its surrounding environment. These areas are sometimes harder to find and there is no better guide than Alejandra and her team. This is my second visit to Tulum and each time I have gone back to Alejandra due to her wisdom and curated experiences that never cease to amaze me. While cenotes are a known treasure to this area, Alejandra scouts out specific ones that truly wows the tourist. Not only that but she exhibits a deep wisdom of the area and stresses the importance of sustainable tourism in this area. She is a guide that truly connects with her clients in getting to know them and providing context to each unique experience. She does not only provide guided tours to cenotes but offers other tours such as experiencing a Mayan village and visiting architectural wonders such as Azulik uh May. Her trips are versatile and catered to your wants and desires even without you having to say it. One of the most important qualities that her trips provide is the ability to give perspective to the juxtaposition of the fast development of Tulum compared to the areas that must be saved and treasured such as its nature, ancient tribes that evokes the tourist to contemplate a sustainable future for Tulum. Nos ha organizado un tour en las cercanías de Tulum que superó absolutamente todas nuestras expectativas. Ale es una gran conocedora y artista en su trabajo, nos ha dado detalles en cada paseo y se ha alejado completamente de lo "comercial" que puede llegar a ser un paseo como éste. Cada cosa estaba perfectamente planeada , convivir con la familia Maya de Efraín fue muy especial , la comida estaba deliciosa. Tuvimos suerte de observar en la reserva a los monos araña y a la pequeña familia de monos aulladores de la zona, cruzar por esa laguna transparente en las balsas fue hipnótico. Visitar Cobá con tanto detalle fue espectacular. El baño en el cenote fue impactante y Ale supo llevarnos de la mano en cada actividad. I had list of very instagram places , I wanted to go to , they made sure I was comfortable from door pickup to snacks and meals. She suggested couple of other places which are hidden gems. I had such a a beautiful spiritual experience that I can’t explain . The beauty is beyond and it’s all be because of kaeru tours. I’m glad I took there suggestions cause it’s completely worth it. I also don’t swim , she made sure I’m comfortable in water and helped me to swim. Totally worth it

Last year I was looking for a safe reliable company and I found Kaeru Tours! I made an inquiry online and got connected with the Owner Alejandra. I told her what we wanted and she delivered. We had a party of 7 including 3 little kids. We did Chichen Itaa and two Cenote’s and had a fabulous driver and Andrea as our guide! Andrea did amazing at c with the kids and making us all feel like family! She also recommended an amazing burrito spot by where we were staying! On the most recent trip I had a small group of 4 friends and we again went to Chichen Itza and then had a Mayan lunch, went to Valladolid city! It was again amazing! Angela is a historian and super knowledgeable and so enthusiastic! It was a perfect day! This company is safe, reliable, cost effective, efficient, and most importantly becomes family! They treat us fair and right! I can’t wait to see them again soon!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely dreamy day! We visited Nohoch Nah Chich and Jaguar Cenote. The tour included snorkeling, seeing cute wildlife (bats, lizards, birds), and zip lining. Pepe was our guide and he was so knowledgeable, patient, and funny. We went on a Wednesday morning and were the only people there at both sites. We ended the day with a delicious lunch at Delicia de mi Tierra. Cannot recommend Kaeru enough. Mil gracias ✨

We also appreciated the eco conscious water bottles to stay hydrated and the local snacks! By far the best tour we have taken in Mexico!!! Experiencia fantástica: Update 2023 - i STILL recommend Kaeru Private tours. We came back for a second time because we like Alejandra so much. I highly recommend Alejandra and Kaeru Private Tours. We booked with them because we wanted to take a private tour, do what we wanted to do, and not be in a crowded van. While we ended up paying more, it was well worth it. We got to visit sites off the beaten path and connect with locals. I particularly valued that Alejandra was very interested in responsible tourism. I had forgotten to pack my paint brush and Alejandra even rearranged the schedule and helped me pick one up in Tulum. Scheduling, communication, and payment were all great. The day tour was one of the highlights of our trip.

Experiencia fantástica: Thanks again to Alejandra! We had an incredible week in the Yucatán Peninsula. From the Calakmul Ruins to the 4 million Bats we saw coming out of a cave. She kept it interesting and exciting with at least 3 different and amazing things everyday. Almost as fun for us was the little family restaurants and roadside fruit vendors to the huge Campeche Market. We recommend visiting the villages between Campeche and Valladolid with the Panaderia (bakery) and the original pulled pork and so much character there. We just loved it! Thanks again and cannot wait til our next adventure!

Experiencia fantástica: Hicimos el tour privado Tulum y Cobá con Alejandra y fue una gran experiencia. Fuimos con su coche comodísimo a Tulum y entramos los primeros. Sin multitudes, sin calor: autenticidad pura. Y luego fuimos a Cobá, que es una maravilla y parece que no se llena tanto de gente. Nada que ver con los tours anteriores que habíamos tomado donde las visitas se realizaban de prisa, 4 actividades en un día y en bus de 40 plazas lleno de turistas la mayoría de los cuales solo quieren fotos para instagram. No lo penséis, es 100% recomendable.

Experiencia fantástica: I was excited to visit Mexico as I have long been interested in the fascinating history and artifacts of the Mayan Civilization. Although this, our first trip, was quite short I had hoped to see the Mayan temples, pyramids and other material that still survives. The friends I visited with my wife spoke to Alejandra and she took the time to understand our interests and she then suggested a custom one-day tour designed for the four of us. With an early rise, she met us at our condo and drove us to Coba and the city that once stood there. Coba was stunning, a wonderful experience which was made all the better by Alejandra’s detailed knowledge of the history, of the temples, the people and their customs. Along the way, she showed us interesting flora and fauna and interpretations of the stelae that archeologists have unearthed there. If the trip had just been that I would have been happy but after 3 or 4 hours at Coba it was time to meet a real Mayan family who invited us for a tour of their home and lunch. The charming family were very pleasant and hospitable and gave us a traditional meal that was delicious. One of our group even got to help make the tortillas we ate at lunch. Each dish was introduced and described by the father of the family (translated from Mayan by Alejandra). This was the most memorable and, I think, authentic meal of our whole holiday. The family’s genuine joy in sharing with us made us feel honoured. After the walking and biking at Coba and the tour of the Mayan family farm, we were ready for a swim in a Cenotes - an open limestone cave. Alejandra steered us away from the commercial and busy Cenotes and brought us to a quiet park where we were able to swim inside a natural limestone sinkhole. Refreshing and another unique experience. I am inquisitive and ask a lot of questions and I was very happy that Alejandra could knowledgeably answer virtually every one. Throughout the day Alejandra carefully kept us hydrated and served us snacks and fruit when needed. The tour was not expensive, it was unique and memorable, it was a wonderful experience that was so much more than I had expected. When we are back next time Alejandra will be our first call because she has so much to offer to those who wish to see historic Mexico and to take an eco-tour that shows her love for her country. Experiencia fantástica: We booked a private tour with Kaeru for 10 people and had a great time! Alejandra responds quickly and the process was so easy. Prices are reasonable and we felt safe even on the outskirts of the tourist areas. Angela is a great tour guide, super knowledgeable and helpful. The timing was perfect, we arrived at the ruins before it got really busy and the cenotes felt like they were completely private for us!

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing! My son (12) and I visited Mexico in April 2022 from the UK, staying in the Riviera Maya area. I found Kaero Tours on Google and contacted them to put a schedule of private tours together. Alejandra got straight back to us with lots of recommendations and ideas of the best places to go and see. Experiencia fantástica: We had an absolutely phenomenal time with Kaeru Private Tours. We did Chichen Itza and il Kil with Alejandra one day and then the Secrete Cenote tour with Andrea another day. The tour of the pyramid was very informative and so much fun. We were one of the only people there when they opened, great for photos! After the tour of the grounds we went swimming in the il Kil Cenote with all the tiny catfish, it was so cute. After swimming, we were taken to a traditional Maya home where the woman cooked for us over a fire, and their children showed us the grounds, animals, farm, and pet parrot. The food was probably the best I've ever eaten. The Maya Lemonade? So GOOD. A couple of days later, just my sister and I went to the secret cenotes. It was breathtakingly beautiful and really cool to go spelunking in some of the caves leading to the cenotes. It was pitch dark at moments, and we saw a frog or two and dozens of stunning stalagmites and stalactites. Afterward, we were brought to a taco restaurant that was DIVINE. There were very few people at the first cenote and we were all alone for the second. We actually ran into a tequila tasting for some others on our way out and they invited us to join a couple of shots! On our way back, they took us to a store to buy the tequila we liked without the markup. It was honestly a most magical trip. I cannot recommend them more. We also visited a private cenote (we were the only people there) in a cave, and had the opportunity of a lifetime to snorkel there. One member of our group had recently been injured, and Alejandra was kind and accommodating of the situation; another member had never been snorkeling before (or to a cenote or cave), and Alejandra was very gentle with her and put her at ease. Alejandra put personal touches on everything (snacks, waters, vegetarian options for lunch, a wonderful tequila tasting, etc.) that only enhanced our day. Experiencia fantástica: This excursion was wonderful! We did a private tour for our family of 8 - all adults from 29 up to 70 with an 8 month old baby. Exceeded everyone’s expectations! Mayan ruins were neat - something to check off the list but busy and hot! Sian kaan, the Muyil canals and picnic after are what made this experience. One of the coolest things any of us had ever done. Angela was a wonderful guide and Ivan a safe, great driver. Angela was so passionate about giving us the best experience - made it an absolute breeze for the baby and catered to every age and liking. She took amazing pictures of all of us in the canal so nobody had to bring their phone, and even let us stop for beer after the ruins. We even had a small issue with the bookings and Angela followed up mid tour with how to fix it. The picnic at the end was homemade tostadas, it was the cherry on top. Highly recommend if you want to see Mayan ruins but also fit in something water and more relaxing related! Something for the history buff and the not so history buff

Angela, our tour guide was so personable, knowledgeable, caring of her group’s needs, and overall such a joy to learn from and spend time with. The caves were so interesting, the tour was just the right length, not too long, not too short, with the zipline addition and the option to spend some free time swimming. Well curated and very thought-through. The lunch spread at the end was so tasty, learning some insights about the Mexican food culture was an added bonus. The communication from Alejandra before and during the tour was superb. They do a really quality job. I would recommend booking your trips with this company!

From the old churches , 100% blue agave tasting, shopping at market for handmade items from leather purses to pottery, to our overnight stay in Merida at a bed and breakfast with an amazing chef. To my husbands favorite part the Uxmal ruins, to a private session with a historically accurate pottery family. All breakfast and lunches were true Mexican dishes that we had never had before... Alejandra set the itinerary for us. We asked to go to Uxmal and she planned two full days of these amazing things. Plus she was open to changes or extra activities we wanted. Experiencia fantástica: This cenote tour highly exceeded all of our expectations. From pickup to end of day, both Andrea and Alejandra kept our group engaged and excited about all we saw. The first cenote Andrea took us to was a gorgeous, open place to swim that was totally private to our group. The traditional Mayan lunch was absolutely delicious. Then, we were surprised and delighted to find that the second cenote was truly an underground cave that we explored with the expert guidance of Alejandra to tell us about all of the geological and spiritual significance. Experiencing true pitch darkness when we briefly turned off the flashlights was extremely powerful! We ended the day with a mezcal tasting, with snacks and tons of insight about the process and tradition of making mezcal. We all had a new appreciation for this liquor, and they even helped us pick up a few bottles on the way back. Absolutely the highlight of our trip!

We were treated to a magical afternoon visiting an open cenote that looked like something out of a travel brochure, and then taken on a truly awe-inspiring underground tour of another cenote. On top of that, we were treated to a delicious and authentic Mayan lunch, and arranged for a fun and informative Mezcal tasting at the end of the day. -- I simply can't say enough positive things about our guides Andrea and Alejandra, they were the best. They even helped arrange for our driver to stop by a store where we could buy some Mezcal to take home with us!

Experiencia fantástica: I just returned from Tulum and had excellent experiences with Kristel, a tour guide, and Kaeru tours. I found Kaeru tours from Airbnb experiences. My first experience was visiting Muyil, ruins about 20 minutes from Tulum. Kristel is so knowledgable about the history and context of these past Mayan ruins. It was fascinating to learn the story behind the ruins. There is a path from the ruins to Sian Ka'an which is a Biosphere reserve. Most people elect to take a boat on the reserve then float down in the water. Instead of doing the boat tour, I visited a Mayan community across from Muyil after eating at a local restaurant. In the village, we ran into one of the original captains on the reserve and he showed us a cenote that he was developing on his land to invite tourists - what an amazing and authentic way to spend the day. My second excursion with Kristel was visiting two Mayan villages. The first village was having a birthday celebration for a 12 year old. They were cooking a pig, 200 pounds, the Mayan way, underground. They invited us to partake. Additionally, there is a person who has a passion for stingless bees that make honey. The Mayans use this honey for aliments and eating. We got to taste many samples and it was incredible. Kristel and I then continued to another village. Kristel's contact prepared us an amazing chicken lunch, again cooked under the ground. The food was amazing. We explored the village and their housing. We also learned about medicinal plants that are growing in the village. Kristel has had a relationship with both villages for over 22 years. There is a real connection between her and the inhabitants. I considered it a privilege to have been able to experience these Mayan villages with someone who passionately cares for its inhabitants. If you are looking for authentic cultural experiences, Kaeru tours and Kristel are excellent guides to the Mayan culture.

We beat the crowds and the heat, and had plenty of guided tour time (with tons of extra info!) from Alejandra, and 90 minutes to explore and shop afterward. Past that point, it was getting very busy, and we were ready to get going. The picnic tamale lunch was so good, and all the extra touches were outstanding. We learned about the area and the culture all the way to and from chichen itza, and had an absolute blast. Escape the resorts and the bus tours, and go on this adventure. Pro tip: be on time/early. We got to go on some side quests, since everyone in our group was prompt for pick up on both sides of the tour.

They were super quick to respond to my messages and requests and our group had the best day!!! Pepe was our tour guide and he was the best!! He had great energy and made the cenotes come to life with great information and interaction. He also took some great photos and videos of us at every photo op- like Insta get ready bc Pepe knows the good angles!! We loved both cenotes we visited and had them to ourselves to explore! Other details- The van was clean and comfortable, we were provided clean and new snorkel gear and life jackets, and our homemade lunch after the tour was delicious ( I found out later that it’s a family-run business and the sister, I believe, makes lunch for the tours. Something different each day! We had tamales with 3 sauces and they were excellent!!) I highly recommend this business. Our group of 7 girls had a blast! Graçias!

Experiencia fantástica: What an amazing trip. We booked the private tour for 4 ppl to Chichen Itza followed by a visit to the Suytun cenote. Pick up is early so make sure you get a good sleep the night before. Alejandro hosted us for the day and was so thoughtful at making sure we had the best time. She has so much knowledge of the history and kept us well informed throughout the day. Lunch was super tasty and I loved that we stopped in a local town to have it and learn about the village. Last stop was the cenote and OMG!!! Breathtaking, that's all I'm saying. Five gold stars.

Since our initial contact with Kaeru to our time with Alejandra traveling Mexico was great. Alejandra took the time to get to know us via phone/text/email to see whatvwe wanted to do. During our stay we went for three tours with Kaeru Private Tours. Two were directly with Kaeru Private Tours and one with a good partner they recommended. The planning with Alejandra was totally easy and very personal. We communicated via Whatsapp and phone-calls. She asked for our wishes and expectations and based on these she gave us recommendations and created our tours. 1st Tour: Chichen Itza and Tulum Our guide was Rosalia. She picked us up at our hotel. In Tulum we picked up another couple and headed to Chichen Itza. We arrived before the crowds at Chichen Itza. Rosalia guided us in a really good way through the ruins. She explained a lot of historical facts but also activated us with a couple of questions we had to think about. After a bit free-time we met at the car again and got an authentic Mexican lunch and dessert. :-) On our way back we stopped at Mayan ruins in Tulum. Also here she guided us really well! Thanks Rosalia! 2nd Tour: Isla Contoy, snorkeling, Isla Mujeres Alejandra recommended not doing a private tour on this, because the seats on the boats are very limited at this season and they are too pricey. So she recommended a partner-company for doing this tour. Our guide Pepe (cooperates with Kaeru Private Tours) picked us up early at the hotel. The boat tour started from Cancun. There were around 20 people with us on the boat. Pepe made the boat ride really special. It was a full entertainment-programm! We can highly recommend him for this tour. On Contoy he did a really good tour with us through the national reservoir. Before stopping at Isla Mujeres we snorkeled in front of the island at a reef. It was our first snorkeling adventure so we stayed close to Pepe and he guided us really well and safe! A huge thanks to Pepe. After Isla Mujeres we headed back to Cancun. Pepe started his entertainment programm again and so the tour got a great ending. 3rd Tour: It was a private tour and completely individualized. Our guide was Andrea. It is difficult to explain her qualities in words because it was more than perfect for us. She was authentic, lovely and a perfect guide for us. First stop was at a lagoon. We watched the sunrise and later some birds with her binoculars. Afterwards we had a wonderful hike through the jungle , guided by a Mayan. We were hoping seeing some monkeys but they were the early birds on this morning ;-). Afterwards we went to a small beautiful cenote in a nearby Mayan-Community. Andrea and one of the Mayans explained us a lot about the cenotes, the gods, the rituals etc. After swimming he also showed us the house where he is living and which plants they cultivate. We could even try some rare honey from the local tiny bees. Afterwards we had a lunch at a great Mayan restaurant. On our way home Andrea showed us Tulum and explained us the local development of the city. Andrea was THE perfect guide for us. She cared a lot for our interests, brought local selfmade snacks and really wanted to make the day special for us! Thanks so much for these three wonderful tours! We will come back :-)

If you prefer a more private experience with a small group (up to 5 people) book one of their tours! The Cenote tour was definitely one of my favourite experiences! It was magical and breathtaking! Alejandra brought us to two handpicked cenotes without any other people. It was so nice to enjoy the cenotes by ourselves. We started with a semi-open cenote and explored the cave part through snorkeling. It was my first time snorkeling and it was amazing! Then we went to an open cenote with a zip line. It was so much fun and we had time to swim and snorkel. After that Alejandra served us homemade tostados. As expected the food provided in their tours is authentic and super delicious! Alejandra is an excellent guide. She‘s very knowledgeable and a fun person. She made us laugh all the time :). On top of that, she speaks German pretty well which impressed me. I would definitely book this tour again! If you’re thinking about exploring cenotes with a tour go with this one here! The Chichen Itza tour was incredible, too! It felt really private because we were only a group of five. Our guide Rosalia was very knowledgeable, super friendly and punctual. She explained everything really well and made sure that we were having a good time. We arrived before the opening and had time for a cup of coffee or tea with tasty cookies. After the tour we had time to take pictures and to walk around by ourselves. Lastly, we had an amazing homemade lunch. The tamales with the toppings were super delicious! If you want to have a more private experience and be one of the first people to enter Chichen Itza in the morning book this tour! Its definitely worth it!

Experiencia fantástica: A friend recommended kaeru private tours to us after her trip to Cancun, so I reached out and arranged our tour through Alejandra. She responded so quickly and I immediately trusted her and felt like I was talking to an old friend. We stayed in Playa del Carmen and requested an "off the beaten path" type tour and let Alejandra run with it. Turns out it was one of the best travel experiences we have EVER had. We got to spend a full day adventuring with our guide, Andrea, who was the perfect match for our group of 3. She picked us up from our hotel before the sun was even up and took us literally through the jungle to do the most amazing things: canoeing in the breathtaking cork forests of a protected nature preserve, seeing a 1,000+ years old tree, visiting a ranch in Yucatan, exploring a cave, swimming in a stunning cenote, making tortillas from corn grown on the ranch, and eating tamales from a generations old Mayan family recipe. We didn't really know exactly what to expect, but our adventure with Andrea exceeded anything we could have imagined. Pictures don't even really do justice to the incredible beauty we were honored to witness. It was the most special day and the absolute highlight of our trip. If you are able, absolutely without hesitation BOOK A TOUR WITH KAERU! They are local, eco-conscious, friendly, fun, adventurous, super knowledgeable, and LGBTQ+ welcoming. I am completely confident that no matter what experience you choose to have with kaeru private tours, it will be an amazing one! We had a perfect day, after they picked us up we were taken to a Mayan run nature preserve where we seen beautiful spider monkeys, we zip lined over a lake then took canoes to get back. An old friend showing you the secrets of the area is much more fitting. Her calming energy is as intoxicating as the magical Cenotes she guides you through. While rooted and laidback in nature, she still knows how to crack a well-timed joke to keep the atmosphere up-lifting and light hearted. She is extremely well versed in the local Cenotes, the times to explore them to have minimal people (if any), and the rich history that accompanies each location. Her passion and amazement for the wonders of this earth as she speaks draws you in like a skilled story teller. She exemplifies living in the moment and appreciating all that is around you. During our private tour she took us to what I would consider the most authentic Mexican food place in that area. A favorite of hers, she helped us choose items that were to our liking. Filled with locals, the food was probably the best we had while on our trip. Bursting with flavor (and spice) we felt at home enjoying our meal with her. For those in a private group I would highly recommend the Mezcal tasting. Please note, Kaeru is passionate in all areas of life and this is no exception. This is a tasting, as she calls it, "a kiss of Mezcal". This is not a get drunk quick scheme. She laid out a selection of curated bottles, each with their own shot glass, miniature drinking cup, or other decorative vessel. She then proceeded to make home made guacamole and continued adding salts, salsas, limes and oranges, to the spread. The presentation was as mouth watering as it was visually stunning. She taught us how Mezcal was made, the styles and pairings, and the history behind the variants. With each “kiss” our palate could appreciate the nuanced flavors from smokey to smooth. Highly recommended if you are seeking another dimension to an already in-depth cultural experience.

Alejandra even allowed us to add an extra stop at Ekbalam (which was awesome) so they we could actually climb a temple and interact with the ruins in a way that Chichen-Itza wouldn't allow. Experiencia fantástica: We had a great experience with Kaeru, and particularly with Andrea who is a co-owner and was our host for the day. We messaged her via AirBnB about 48 hours in advance and they were extremely accommodating and responsive. We did a private cenote tour and lunch in a Mayan village but they can tailor the tour to whatever you like and for whatever time. They also arrange for pickup and dropoff in nice, air conditioned vans and are punctual with their times. They're a little more expensive than some similarly-advertised excursions you see out there, but they're more than worth it for the peace of mind of knowing you're getting a great experience and the transportation will be taken care of as promised. Cannot recommend Kaeru enough. This was the highlight of our trip to a resort 20 minutes north of Tulum.

Our tour guide, Alejandra was kind enough to pick us up from where we were staying, saving us the taxi ride to the normal meeting location. She took us to two incredible cenotes - one open air, above ground and one underground cave. She knew the best times to visit so that most of our tour ended up being a private experience, allowing us to have the cenotes completely to ourselves. On our second tour, Alejandra took us through the Sian Ka’an biosphere reserve. This experience was just as amazing as our first. We explored Mayan ruins, climbed above the jungle trees to a private lookout, took a private boat across the lagoons and floated in the ancient Mayan river canals. Afterwards, Alejandra took us to one of her favorite restaurants in town for dinner. We ended our night with some great authentic Mexican cuisine.
