Experiencia fantástica: I booked a small group guided tour of Chichen Itza at short notice online (guide only option). Excellent communication before the tour. The guide had my name on a board at Chichen Itza. The 1.5 hour tour with Jorge was excellent and fun. Lots of history and information about Chichen Itza and the Mayas in the Yucatan. At the end we could explore on our own.

Experiencia fantástica: My family and I visited Tulum with Joel as our guide, and it was spectacular. Even before the tour, he sent us important information about the way to get there, as well as restrictions on the plastic and glass bottles on the site which we didn't know, and was useful to us. During the tour, he was polite, punctual, and knowledgeable about the Mayan people, as well as the site as a whole, which would have never known to us as common visitors if not told by him. We were happy to know that he was of Mayan descent, and all the details that came from his family history, as well as his passion for his culture which helped us visualize the importance and respect we should give to the site. Additionally, he showed us photos which further added to his story. His tour was worth every penny, and we truly recommend his services. If we were to return, we would gladly contact him again. Experiencia fantástica: Yesterday we had a tour trough the Maya Ruïnes in Tulum and it was great! Our guide Joel was the best! He made the tour very personal by not only telling about the history of the Maya's, but also about his own history and himself as a kid. This way you get to know a little bit more about the culture! He showed us all the beautifull spots and took great pictures! The way he does his tour, you will never get bored! Because we booked the tour with a guide, we didn't have to wait in the lines to get in, so that went very fast. We do absolutely recoment this tour!

Experiencia fantástica: We did the walking tour of the Tulum Ruins & we had the best tour guide EVER !! ✨ Joel was absolutely amazing.. he had so much knowledge to share about the sacred area, the history, Mayan traditions, and stories of his family. The experience felt so personal & we learnt so much.. it’s great that Joel has his own collection of diagrams, maps and Mayan replicas, to really make the history come to life✨ The tour itself lasted approximately 1 hour 30, and it was bilingual in both Spanish & English. Joel had all of our tickets and passes ready so we didn’t need to queue in the long lines, his timings are just right to avoid all of the big crowds !! There’s also plenty of time to take pictures.. and Joel knows the best spots !! Could not recommend this tour more☺️

Muy amable desde el principio, proporcionando mucha información y haciéndonos participar del canto del quetzal, un crack :) Una crítica en general a las agencias q trabajáis en Chichén: cobrar 30€ x pax más la entrada abusiva (35€), para una visita en grupo compartido de 1:30-2h, es caro (el Museo del Prado en España, la mayor pinacoteca del mundo, cuesta 15€ para todo el mundo). Espero que paguen decentemente a sus guías para que éstos encima no tengan que depender de las propinas adicionales... El día que México trate a sus visitantes como un anfitrión a sus invitados en casa, y no como un "extranjero", mejorará su imagen como destino desde luego.

A few days before the tour our guide Monica contacted me via Whatsapp. She gave some tips on parking and told us where to meet her. Finding her was super easy. Monica had extensive knowledge about Chichen Itza and our family of 5 enjoyed learning about the Mayan people. She was very kind and gave us plenty of time to ask questions. His passion for the history of the Mayan civilization runs so deep. We felt so immersed in the culture that we didn’t want the tour to end. Joel gave us recommendations not only for drinks, snacks, and places to beat the heat while on the tour, but also for places around Tulum. Experiencia fantástica: I would highly recommend booking a tour guide for Chichen Itza, as there is so much to learn. Monica, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and her English was really good. It was really nice to have this pre-booked with tickets as we got to skip the line and Monica gave us instructions for arriving the night before. Saved us being there an hour early! You can also ignore all the pushy salesmen for tour guides. I recommend booking the morning tour because it gets pretty hot during the day. We left soon after the tour before midday because it was so warm. It also became super busy with tourists, whereas when we arrived you could still see the path you were walking on.

It was a hot day, and she led us to various shady spots to give in-depth descriptions of what we were seeing. She had a tablet to show images of what Chichen Itza looked like in its time, and asked us questions to keep the talk engaging. He carried laminated cards etc., so he could point out areas on the temples and show you how scholars thought it would have looked - so you could really imagine what it would have looked like back in the day! He even had an umbrella for me (the midday sun can be brutal)!!
