We caught 4 fish and they made fresh ceviche for us on Isla Passion. Also did a beautiful sunrise kayak trip, saw many flamingos, birds, horseshoe crabs and a crocodile. Definitely recommend Diego and his team, we could tell they enjoy what they do ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: I had an absolutely wonderful time at a great price for the sunrise kayaking! Our group was very laid back and both guides were incredibly knowledgeable. They pick you up from your hotel in the morning. We took plenty of breaks throughout. We only got one glimpse of a crocodile, but there were LOTS of flamingos everywhere in early/mid June.

Some in our group weren’t experienced kayakers, so he guided them patiently. Not only did we see the bioluminescence, but also saw a ray. Enrique explained everything thoroughly. We had lots of fun, would highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: We had a fabulous early morning kayak adventure starting with a 6am hotel pickup. We saw pelicans, flamingos, egrets, crocodiles… our guide, Carlos, was fantastic at identifying all the creatures and fauna. Next time I’ll bring mosquito netting for my hat. A+++. Definitely recommend.

La experiencia de los manglares es pesada pero vale totalmente ver la naturaleza, vimos a un cocodrilo, y varias aves. El atardecer al regresar un espectáculo. Carlos sabía muchísimo y estaba siempre al pendiente de nosotros. La bioluminiscencia a pesar de no ser una temporada con las condiciones precisas se pudo observar gracias a algunos trucos que nos enseñó Abraham. Pudimos admirar el cielo totalmente estrellado y la explicación de los astros padrísima, había lluvia de estrellas y ver cómo se ocultó la luna en el horizonte. Definitivamente ambos tours los recomendamos 100% (Aguas con los mosquitos)

Experiencia fantástica: We did the mangrove kayaking tour in morning on Isla Holbox. Our tour guide was Carlos and he was fantastic. He had knowledge of the whole area, the animals and some history of the island. We did the tour at our own pace which created a relaxing memorable experience.

The different species of birds the flamingos we saw crocodiles. The tour was great a must do. The Bioluminescent tour with Carlos was mesmerizing. Seeing how the water glows is breathtaking.

Das ist früher als viele andere Touren, was dazu führt, dass man zum einen den Sonnenaufgang im Kayak erlebt und (vermutlich) weniger in den Mangroven los ist. Der Guide, Diego, konnte gutes Englisch und viele Vogelarten nennen und deren Verhalten erklären. Er hat auch ein gutes Auge und auf unserer Tour drei Krokodile gesehen, die uns nicht aufgefallen wären. . Ein tolles Erlebnis, wir würden es jederzeit erneut buchen :)

Experiencia fantástica: What an experience. Seeing all the stars and the plankton light up at the same time. It was magical.

Experiencia fantástica: This was one of the most magical experiences of my life! We woke up at 3am and were transported to mosquite (aptly named- make sure you drench yourself in bug spray) where we got our kayaks. This was all done in the dark to allow our eyes to adjust to the darkness. The kayaking was not intense and we took it slow to allow us time to marvel at the water and the stars. The bioluminescence was mindblowing, every stroke of the paddle created a wake of blue. We could even see the wake of the fish swimming through the water beneath us. Our guide Gustavo also showed us various constellations, the stars were unlike any I've ever seen before and we saw 4 shooting stars. It really felt like a dream because we woke up and then were in the dark for the whole trip. It was difficult to catch in photos/videos so we gave up and just lived in the moment. Cannot recommend this as a once in a lifetime experience enough. We even considered going again the next night because we knew we'd never experience something that magical again.

So knowledgeable, and you could tell truly enjoyed his job and showing others the amazing things Holbox offers. We saw so much beautiful wildlife and it was the highlight of our trip. Experiencia fantástica: We had a really good experience, we booked a kayak trip very spontaneously ( it is not a good idea to book much in advance because the weather in Holbox is changing all the time and you never know, storms can come suddenly, and the next day sunny) our guide called Carlos - he was super great! and had good energy! The place is beautiful, and we even saw 2 crocodiles, I took this trip with two kids, the kids were thrilled and so am I. Totally worth it

Experiencia negativa: We made our reservations over a month in advance. Our tour was to meet at 6:00 am. We paid $30 for a taxi to get to the activity and literally upon our arrival at 5:55am I got an email that said they were canceling the tour. 5 minutes notice!?! They told me to “take it easy, it’s only 6:00am” when I expressed my dissatisfaction. They said they couldn’t contact me before despite having my email and phone number for WhatsApp. No indication of attempted contact before 5:55am. Complete and utter disregard for their paying customer. I had hoped that Expedia would vet the company but obviously they did not. This operator does not deserve your business. If I could give zero stars, I would!

Experiencia fantástica: Did the sunrise kayaking tour to the mangrove with Gustavo and it was the highlight of our stay in Holbox. Saw every kind of bird, plus four (!) crocodiles. The tour was very enjoyable, the guide was very knowledgable and the group was small.

Experiencia fantástica: Went for a sunrise kayaking tour and the early wake up was so worth it, beautiful sunrise from the sea and the heat of the day wasn't there yet, saw lots of flamingos and other birds, several crocodiles and horse shoe crabs. Carlos was a wonderful guide and gave us so much information about everything related to the mangrove forest and animals. Booked through our hotel and there was a miscommunication from their side about the drop off taxi ride being included, when in reality it was only the pick up. But 200 pesos extra for the taxi driver for the drop off was no big deal for us!

Experiencia fantástica: We did a sunrise Kayak with pick up from hotel and drop off. Our guide Carlos was knowledgeable in the area and has a good heart. He was aware of our safety and spoke about the effects of humans on the reserve and other ecological areas. We did not see much wildlife, but great bird watching and seeing sting rays. The tour was so good that we ended booking with another guide name Diego a second time for the Bioluminescence night kayaking where he was also knowledgeable on safety, ecological environment and impact as well as some star gazing. This was easy to book, with regular and easy communication form the staff through What’s APP. We actually canceled one of our days because my Fiancé was not feeling well, and there was no issues to reschedule. They were aware of everyone’s needs and safety, and suggested to check back when we felt better. I would suggest wearing leggings and long sleeves if you don’t like bugs and don’t want to get bit or a lot of big spray. Again, because of the tourism growth of the area and the habitat effect by humans, it was still a great experience early morning time for peace and tranquility. Then you can just lay by the beach for the rest of the day!

Experiencia fantástica: We had a very nice kayaking excursion into the mangroves. The weather was beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable about the birds and other animals that live in there. We kayaked from the launching point near our hotel for about 40 minutes along the shore until we entered the mangroves from there we paddled up and around a bit to see different animals. We even saw a crocodile. We had eight of us in total with two young children and two older children. The double kayaks made it manageable.

Experiencia positiva: Beautiful place to kayak - lots of birds, sleepy crocs and very tranquil at dawn. While I am still learning Spanish it would be great to have an English speaking guide. We were 6 people all who didn't really get a 'guide' as he didn't speak English - we all did. Be warned there are no toilet stops as it's a national park :)

Experiencia positiva: it was an amazing experience to kayak in the nature in the morning. We really enjoyed the silence and the sunrise. There were a lot of birds and even two crocodiles to see. During our stop we also saw some fish in the water. Our tour guide was very nice. Kayaking the lang way into the mangroves and back is a bit strenuous for untrained persons.

Experiencia fantástica: What a lovely 3 hour tour experience! The guide and the captain were a super fun company. We very much enjoyed swimming in a cenote in the middle of manglares and walking around the Passion Island. And last but not least, captain’s handmade guacamole was the best part. Highly recommended! ‍☠️

Experiencia fantástica: We had a beautiful time on the water with the Kayaking Holbox crew! They helped us set up two tours for our wedding guests - one at sunrise and another at 10:30am. The sunrise tour gave us some quiet time to ourselves on the water before other tours showed up. The later tour let folks sleep in. Both were beautiful and gave us a chance to see the birds and wildlife around the island. The tour guides were super helpful and knowledgable about the waters and environment. Would highly recommend! Also, Diego, who helped organize it all, is incredibly friendly and accommodating. thank you for all the help making this happen!

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointing experience... We went for a sunset kayaking tour. It is a long way kayaking in the sea till you reach the mangroves. The wind was very strong and waves were so big, that we were wet from the first minute, I was sitting in the water up to my belly button for the next 3 hours. The problem is that we asked and the guide didn’t told us to bring dry clothes with us. When we entered the mangroves, couple of local guys came with a speed boat and loud music, which was really sad. We were promised 500ml of water each and fruits during the trip, which was three 5cm bananas for 2 persons and a possibility to drink once from guide’s personal flask. When we came back to the beach we were soggy and cold, we were waiting for a guide for 15 min, and then he told that only pick up is included into the price, so we should go back by foot which was quite far when you’re wet for 3 hours. Disappointing experience for 400pesos/person.

Experiencia fantástica: Thomas, our guide, was amazing. He spokes 3 languages very fluently and knows the place very well. We left at 5h50 from our hotel with a taxi arranged for us by the tour. The goal was to see the stars and the sunset and it was very impressive. There was a wide spread wild life as expected. They gave us water and fruits and it was good because we were starving having had no breakfast. On a difference note, dont forget to have money for the tip and the return trip hence its not included in the package. We had to walk 1 mile to get back.

Experiencia fantástica: Hoy hemos hecho el tour de kayak por el manglar. Para el turno de mañana hay que madrugar bastante pero merece mucho la pena. Empezar a remar de noche permite iniciar la actividad observando las estrellas y la bioluminiscencia, además la temperatura es muy agradable. Los kayak son muy anchos y súper estables, imposible volcar. Tomas ha sido un guía fantástico, nos ha dado todas las claves para ver a los cocodrilos y nos ha dado muchas explicaciones de Holbox y de la zona que hemos visitado haciendo el tour muy ameno. Un 10 para el.

Experiencia fantástica: Very nice tour! We did the morning tour at 6am. Pick up at hotel/appt. Starting at the sea and watch the sunrise. Next we went up the river and saw lots of animals (crocodiles, different birds, rays, etc). The guide had lots of knowledge about the different species and was very protective about the mangroves and animals. Sometimes we had to wait a lot for other people in our group who had some problems controlling the kayak… idea would be to split groups. Overall great experience!

Experiencia fantástica: What a fun experience going kayaking in the mangrove. We saw the last sunset of 2021 going back. Carlos is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and eager to share his passion also about Isla Holbox. Keep up the great work Carlos!
